A Quick Centering Exercise

Before we explore this week’s insights, let’s take a moment to pause and reconnect. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in. As you exhale, release any tension in your body, letting it melt away.

Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a vast, calm ocean. The waves gently lap at your feet, inviting you to let go and just be. With each breath, allow yourself to sink into this peaceful space. When you’re ready, open your eyes, feeling refreshed and present.

Breakthrough Idea of the Week

The Power of Intentional Holidays

For years, I held the belief that rest was something you had to earn, a prize to be claimed after you’ve pushed yourself to the brink. I thought if I just worked harder, longer, I’d eventually deserve a break. But as last year drew to a close, that kind of thinking nearly led me to burnout.

Since then, I’ve learned a powerful truth: rest isn’t a reward—it’s a necessity. It’s not an afterthought, something you squeeze in when there’s time; it’s something you must plan intentionally because it’s crucial to your well-being and success. Imagine driving your car until the tank is empty before refueling. You wouldn’t do that, right? You’d make sure it’s fueled before setting out on a journey. Your mind, body, and spirit work the same way.

The ancient Greeks had a word for this—eudaimonia—which goes beyond simple happiness to encompass flourishing in every aspect of life. They understood that true fulfillment comes from balance—nourishing your mind, spirit, relationships, and health. What’s fascinating is that some of the biggest breakthroughs often occur in those moments of intentional rest. The clarity, ideas, and solutions you’ve been chasing tend to emerge not when you’re grinding away, but when you’ve allowed yourself the space to breathe and reflect.

Pause & Reflect

Take a moment to really ponder these questions:

1.

Where in your life have you been running on empty, thinking you need to push just a bit more before you can rest?

2.

If you could give yourself permission to take a break right now, what part of your life—mind, spirit, relationships, or health—would you choose to nourish first?

Let these questions guide you toward making rest a more intentional, essential part of your life.

Coaching Tool of the Week

Crafting Your Intentional Holiday

This week, let’s make rest a priority, not just a pause:

1.

Pick One Area to Recharge: Reflect on which part of your life feels most depleted—your mind, spirit, relationships, or health. Choose one area to focus on.

2.

Plan a Simple Break: Think of one simple, intentional way you can recharge that area. It could be a quiet morning walk, a day spent immersed in a book, or an afternoon reconnecting with a loved one.

3.

Schedule It: Put this break on your calendar, and treat it as you would any important commitment—non-negotiable and essential to your well-being.
